What were you doing before Dexters and how did you join us?

Prior to working at Dexters, I was a Negotiator at an independent estate agent in Camden. I had a friend that I previously worked with at the independent agent, but she left and joined Dexters and could not stop singing Dexters’ praises. It was in fact this friend that referred me to Dexters and since joining, I have never looked back.

Where did you start and where are you now?

I started in the Maida Vale office, which I then left to join the Clapham High Street office. After being the top negotiator in that office for a few years I felt I was ready to take the next step in my career and I have recently joined the Vauxhall office as Lettings Manager.

What is your favourite thing about your role?

Since becoming a Manager in the Vauxhall office, my favourite part of the job is being that ongoing support to the team and my Director, Oliver. I like encouraging the team and ensuring they are performing at their best along with making sure they have all the support needed, and doing what I can to help grow the business.

What advice would you give to somebody looking to get into the industry?

I would say nothing is off limits and you can reach whatever goals you personally set for yourself, irrespective of previous experience. As long as you have a can-do attitude and give it your all whenever you can, the sky's the limit. This job has given me opportunities I didn't even know were possible, such as completing my second purchase last year. I am very thankful to Dexters for providing me with opportunities that enabled me to change my life for the better.

What makes Dexters different?

Working for Dexters has been a breath of fresh air. Before joining Dexters, I was unsure if I wanted to continue working in estate agency as I felt I had to regularly compromise my integrity and morals in order to get the business, but since joining Dexters, I have learnt that is not the case. I can do the best job for my clients and applicants, while being honest and transparent and without having to compromise my integrity in any way, and that made all the difference for me.

Have you done any qualifications with us?

I recently completed my ARLA qualifications, and I am now ARLA Qualified.

What’s the most exciting thing about your role?

Getting a large deal secured and file complete. Naturally whenever we do a big deal (whether that's getting secured or file complete) the buzz it creates in the office is infectious, and it's such a nice environment to be in and it brings me joy, so I would say that is my favourite part of the role.

Where is your favourite place in London?

I don't actually have one favourite place in London but one of my favourite activities or places to go in London is TeamSport Go Karting. I am very competitive and this is a great place for me to let my inner child out and just engage in some fun, friendly competition with my family and peers.
