Sales Board DirectorWhat were you doing before Dexters and how did you join us?
I was working for Reiss in Leeds after university, trying to figure out what I was going to do with my life. A good friend from university who is also now a Lettings Director put up a post on Facebook about Dexters, which caught my eye, and I reached out to him. Here I am 10 years later.
Where did you start and where are you now?
I started in Fulham as a Trainee Consultant and strangely enough, even though I have been in various different roles within different offices, I am now a Board Director back in Fulham, running the office where my journey began.
What is your favourite thing about your role?
I love people, training people, building people up and progressing them to see them develop, grow and smash it. I get a lot of gratification out of the growth and success of my colleagues, I enjoy building a culture and then seeing others live it.
What advice would you give to somebody looking to get into the industry?
You have to have grit and determination, but if you have that along with a good work ethic and an infectious energy, you’ll go far.
What makes Dexters different?
I think we have a relentless vision that is impossible to derail us from achieving. The growth has been incredible over the last 30 years, and particularly the last 10 - it’s impressive that we have remained with such a strong culture running through us. Also, the potential to achieve what you want within your role, as no promotion is off limits.
Have you done any qualifications with us?
Yes, I have done the NFOPP and will be starting RICS soon.
What’s the most exciting thing about your role?
The ability to push myself and go for what I want - anything is achievable.
Where is your favourite place in London?
I love Notting Hill; I spent a lot of my career in Shepherd’s Bush and so I was always in Notting Hill. I love the architecture, restaurants, markets and sense of British nostalgia.
